Are you ready to master your disaster?

15 years ago the idea of trekking the incredible Jordan River Gorge seemed like an impossible dream. I was being slowly crippled by MS (multiple sclerosis) and could barely walk. Today, I am proud to say I conquered that challenge thanks to a Master of Disaster mindset and a never say die attitude!

When her husband leaves her on her 40th birthday, only hours after radical surgery to cure her “incurable” disease, Kat Finnerty’s world is shattered.

But then something remarkable happens.

She overcomes his betrayal in 12 hours. It’s almost as if her absurd, disaster-prone life has been arming her with the superpowers to master her disaster.

So begins Kat’s astonishing true story. Spanning the globe from her hometown of Toronto to the rugged outback of Australia, Kat discovers from an early age that being gifted with nine lives isn’t enough to offset her suffering.

She sets out on a high-stakes adventure to squeeze more meaning and purpose from her life, only to be cruelly struck down at 24 by the symptoms of a mysterious disease. It rapidly begins to cripple her body.

Kat contemplates the unthinkable. Until fate intervenes in the form of a tattooed Maori Buddhist teacher, an unorthodox Canadian yoga guru and a Zen motorbike-riding spiritual renegade. They open her eyes to the truth about suffering.

And this changes everything.

Just like the pieces of a giant jigsaw puzzle, the lessons from Kat's katastrophes slot into place, revealing the bigger picture. She transforms herself into a master of disaster and ultimately cures her “incurable” disease.

Infused with humour and the wisdom of Buddhist and Stoic philosophy, this life-changing memoir will move, inspire and empower you to never let a good disaster go to waste.

IMAGINE being able to …

  • turn pain into strength

  • bend without breaking

  • extract meaning and growth from adverse situations

  • become more resilient to the triggers that create more suffering

My goal is to arm you with the superpowers to master any disaster!

Hi, I’m Kat!

I was only 24 when I began experiencing the devastating symptoms of multiple sclerosis . I was officially diagnosed at 27 and told I’d probably be in a wheelchair by 40. But despite enduring years of debilitating attacks, I managed to cure my “incurable” disease and reverse nearly all my symptoms.

I attribute a large part of this journey to a radical change in mindset. By learning how to harness the power of my mind I broke out of my cycle of suffering, cast of the blanket of victimhood and overcame and transformed my challenges. It gave me the COURAGE and CONVICTION to tackle my radical treatment regimes and therapies and see them through to the end.

And the good news is, you can do this too!

I’m making it my mission to provide you with the life hacks to help cultivate resilience and strength and bring more peace, joy and contentment into your life RIGHT NOW, not in some imagined future.
